General Information
Badges Please check in and pick up conference badges for yourself and your guests immediately upon arrival. The full-conference or one-day-pass badge will admit you and your registered guest to all conference and social events for which you are registered. Travel The San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina is located at 333 West Harbor Drive, San Diego, California 92101. The hotel offers a resort-style setting and a spectacular waterfront view, and is just minutes from San Diego International Airport, Amtrak Station and major freeways. Hotel Registration New this year—Please make your hotel reservations directly with the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. CAPG has arranged a special rate of $225 plus taxes, per room, single or double occupancy, and requests will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. To ensure your space, please make your reservations early. Room availability and the CAPG special rate are guaranteed only until May 2, 2008 or until our block of rooms sells out. Third Party Billing The Marriott Hotel requires that a Third Party Billing Request form be completed if you wish to charge multiple rooms to a single corporate or personal credit card or if the name of the occupant differs from the name on the credit card. Though you may reserve any numbers with one credit card, the payment for those rooms will be charged to the occupant unless the Marriott has the Third Party Billing Request form, along with required identification, on file. Americans with Disabilities Act We make every effort to accommodate the needs of our conference registrants and their families. If you require any of the auxiliary services identified in the Americans with Disabilities Act in or to participate in any of our programs, please e-mail Lura Hawkins at lhawkins@capg.org. Cancellations Cancellations received in writing prior to May 15 will be subject to a $50 processing fee. Conference refunds cannot be issued after May 15, nor will they be given to registrants who do not attend. All hotel cancellations must be made directly with the hotel and are subject to the Hotel’s cancellation policy. Private Hospitality Events No hospitality event or other activity may be scheduled during the conference without the express permission of CAPG. Any such scheduling will result in cancellation of the event and forfeiture of any deposits for food and beverage orders. Dress Dress for the conference is business casual except for the Saturday night Gala, where we suggest coat and tie for the men and dressy outfits for the women. Select meal functions may be held outdoors, weather permitting. Please bring a sweater for cool evenings. Special Events Roundtable Discussions Be sure to join us at 3:00 p.m. Friday for a series of lively roundtable discussions on a variety of important topics as Data Sharing with Health Plans, Medi-Cal Managed Care, Pharmacy, and Physician Leadership Training. Choose a forum and participate in an expert-led exchange of ideas. Networking and Entertainment Thursday Evening Receptions Come early and enjoy a sponsored Welcome Reception from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening followed by a sponsored late-night Cocktail and Dessert Reception from 8:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Please check your on-site registration packet for locations. Friday Evening Exhibit Fair and Strolling Dinner Our signature event, the Friday evening Exhibit Fair and Strolling Dinner, offers an opportunity to talk directly with our sponsors and exhibitors, mingle with old and new friends, and feast from a wide array of food stations. We’ll be decked out in a Beach Party theme, and casual seashore attire is welcome. After-Hours Friday Dancing Late night dancers will gather at the party after the party, a lively reception featuring music and dancing. Begins at 10:00 p.m. and lasts until midnight. Saturday Night Dinner Dance Extravaganza A favorite every year, this dress-to-impress event starts with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner, dancing, and entertainment. Sports and Fitness Thursday Golf Tournament A highlight for members, associates, sponsors and exhibitors will be held Thursday, May 29 at the Maderas Golf Club, 17750 Old Coach Road in nearby Poway. A shuttle will be provided to and from the course. The tournament is open to all full-conference attendees regardless of skill and/or handicap. We have a limit of 144 players, and a waitlist will be started once we reach that number. To ensure your place, please register for the conference as early as possible. Saturday Fitness Fun Run/Walk A chance to enjoy the San Diego sunshine and get in a little exercise at your own speed: 7:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31. Sunday Tennis Warm-Up Clinic and Event An interchanging-partner, round-robin event open to players of all levels. No partner is required; players will be paired at the event. Warm-up clinic at 7:00 a.m., play at 8:00 a.m. Just For Kids and Teens Babysitting We are offering babysitting for children six months to three years of age during the same hours as the youth programs listed below. It is a separate program, and meals are provided. Youth Program Children ages 4–11 will once again be entertained by KiddieCorp. Youngsters will enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, including arts and crafts, a Pirate Hat Parade, and in-the-pool games for those who choose. Friday, May 30, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., lunch includedTeen Program For ages 12 and up, a place to gather with friends and enjoy teen activities on Friday and Saturday evenings.
