Introduction

The California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG) is the voice of organized medicine in California. We are the nation's largest professional association representing physician groups practicing in the managed care model. Our members are committed to the delivery of coordinated, accountable, clinically integrated health services. We support our members through public advocacy, educational services and collaboration with other stakeholders in California healthcare.

About CAPG
CAPG is a professional association comprised of more than 150 of California's leading physician groups.  These groups employ and/or contract with physicians who in turn provide health care services to approximately 13 million Californians. More than fifty percent of California's health care is delivered by physicians employed by or contracted with CAPG members.

CAPG members are committed to improving and providing high quality, affordable healthcare for all Californians.

History of CAPG
In 1995, there were several physician group associations in California.  In 2001, they consolidated into one organization named the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG).  Since then, CAPG has doubled its membership, making it the leading professional association for physician groups in California.
